Magazine Design

I worked for several years at the medium daily newspaper The Log Cabin Demcorat in Conway, Arkansas and during that time, paginated the newspaper daily. I was responsible for designing not only the front page each night but also the feature sections and special features, tabloids and other publications. While working at Arkansas' FlagandBanner.com in Little Rock, Arkansas the company decided to start a bi-annual magazine to send to their mail list of 50,000+ customers. The magazine went from idea to print in less than a year. I designed not only the style guide for the magazine but the masthead, the font styles, the layout and the creative and artistic vision for the magazine from ideas hatched by both the editor and publisher. I also wrote the travel section of the magazine and many of the food articles from my previous experience writing similar stories for The Log Cabin Democrat.
